Performative Politics

When OneBC leader Dallas Brodie brought her “debate” to the steps of the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, UBC didn’t just show up; they showed them the way out.

What started as a planned “exchange of opinions” quickly turned into a massive show of solidarity. Nearly 1,000 students, staff, and community members drowned out the rhetoric with drums, songs, and a clear message: The truth of survivors is not up for debate.
