How do I teach?
Teaching philosophy
In my experience, teaching is less about presenting myself as an expert and more about guiding students on their learning journey. While subject knowledge is important, a teacher’s true role is to create the conditions for students to engage deeply with material, question assumptions, and connect concepts to their own lives.
Teaching as the cultivation of curiosity, providing tools and frameworks that empower students to explore, analyse, and build knowledge independently.
Multimodal learning
Effective teaching means recognizing diverse learning styles, as every class includes students with different preferences—some thrive in lectures, others in hands-on activities, discussions, or storytelling. By blending methods like visual aids, collaborative projects, and reflective exercises, I create flexible learning environments.
I use digital tools to spark creativity while balancing non-digital approaches such as debates and problem-solving, helping students develop subject knowledge, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills essential for growth
Respect building
Respect between teacher and student is a cornerstone of effective teaching, earned through honesty, empathy, and consistency. By valuing students’ voices and treating them as active participants, I create a safe space for sharing ideas, asking questions, and taking risks.
Feedback is central, I provide constructive, motivating guidance while also seeking input from students. This mutual loop refines my teaching, reinforces trust, and demonstrates my investment in their growth and success.
